Something about the Story
Evie is staying in a house that she does not know very well. Snuggled in bed she tries to fall asleep when, suddenly, she is frightened by a little noise. “Tap tap! Tip tap! Tap tap!” Who could be making that sound? The house elf, who watches over sleeping children, appears to show Evie that there is nothing to be scared of. He takes the child on a journey through the house at night, when everything and everyone are supposed to be sleeping…
This gentle story filled with the sounds and colours of the night is ideal for bedtime reading. It also helps young children to discover the enchantments of night time.
Something about the author
Jocelyne Marque is a school teacher born in France. “What’s that noise?” is her first published story. Through imaginary encounters with household objects, the author brings to life sensations and emotions that young children commonly experience during the night, but which they seldom have a chance to share with others.
